BMW will launch a Carbon Fiber Vehicle in 2013

BMW announces the launch of a car, tentatively named as Megacity Vehicle,  by 2013. This urban vehicle will offer zero-emission and ultra-lightness. In order to achieve the lightness, BMW will use carbon fiber as the main substance in the overall construction. Ian Robertson, BMW’s head of global sales, has announced that BMW will be the first car manufacturer to utilize carbon fiber in cars that will be available and affordable to the masses. Carbon fiber cars in the past were all found in high end vehicles that only few can afford. Well, BMW isn’t really a cheap car to begin with, but let’s be prepared for a cheaper offering from BMW. Robertson Also said that the Megacity Vehicle is only the beginning of  carbon fiber made cars from BMW. Eventually, they plan to infuse this technique in making all the cars that they manufacture.
