The BMW M Concept Neue Klasse has rolled into the limelight with its world debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This machine unveils a fresh M design language and signals a confident shift towards the brand’s all-electric future. Blending bold styling, serious performance and clever materials, it bridges the gap between racing heritage and the road ahead. One glance tells you this is a proper high-performance motor car, staying loyal to the M creed: born on the racetrack, made for the streets.
The bodywork makes a statement before the wheels even turn. Muscular proportions, sharp lines and bulging wheel arches give the car an unmistakable stance, while wide shoulders hint at the grip beneath. Aerodynamic touches appear throughout, from the reworked M mirrors finished in M colours to the V-shaped bonnet vent that cools the electric drivetrain. The forward-leaning shark nose, fused headlights and kidney grille sharpen the face, and the new M Yellow Lights nod to GT racers and the BMW M Hybrid V8.
Up front, a trimaran-style bumper borrows its shape from high-speed sailing yachts, lending a technical edge while bracing the front splitter. Fresh three-dimensional Track Lights sit at the outer corners and carry through to the rear, framing a trimaran element above the floating diffuser. A bold ducktail spoiler trims airflow and pins the rear axle to the tarmac. Natural fibre features in the splitter, bonnet vent and diffuser, appearing for the first time with a refined M-branded roof graphic.
Slip inside, and the cabin keeps its focus firmly on the person behind the wheel. Four newly developed bucket seats hold you tight through hard cornering, with structural natural fibre woven in and two-tone Merino leather in Bathurst Blue and Berry Red. Red five-point belts add intent, while black nubuck leather wraps the wheel, doors and roll bar for the first time in an M car. A floating dashboard glows with hexagonal backlighting, and red accents on the gear selector, shift paddles, and displays put performance front and centre.
Beneath the surface, the BMW M eDrive concept rewrites the rulebook for M motoring. Four electric motors work alongside BMW M Dynamic Performance Control, governed by the Heart of Joy high-performance computer for wheel-by-wheel command of drive and braking. The result is strong recuperation, sharp traction and instant response right up to the limit. Built on Gen6 technology, the 800-volt system and a battery above 100 kWh promise genuine range, with the pack bolted into both axles to boost handling further.
