August sales of BMW return to pre-crisis levels

BMW beat their records for last August 2009, 2008, and 2007 with their global sales this August 2010. This good sales numbers are a strong sign that BMW has indeed recovered from the stall of the premium car market.

In a statement last Thursday, BMW said that they have sold more vehicles in China in the first eight months of 2010 than they did for twelve months in 2009. The global sales of BMW have increased 16.3% globally last month, totaling to about 88,000 units. Year to date, BMW has already sold 775,262 units for an overall gain of 14%.

BMW group sales chief Ian Robertson said, “we are seeing a stable upward trend and are gradually regaining the level we had prior to the economic and financial crises. For the first time, it (the BMW brand) also delivered more vehicles than in August 2007 and 2008.”

Congratulations BMW Group!
