Automobile-Magazine.fr reveals the patent images of the BMW i3 before this first electric vehicle makes it debut next month at the Frankfurt Auto Show. In direct comparison with the concept model revealed in 2011, the patent images of the i3 show a more mature design and closer to a production-ready vehicle. Simpler and more cost effective headlights take the place of the beautiful but somewhat unrealistic headlights in the concept. An extra air inlet is also added to the patented image. The wheelbase of the concept is shorter and the rear doors are about 20 centimeters longer than the production model. Carbon fiber replaces the glass doors, to ensure strength and lightness of the vehicle.
