Mud, gravel, open road. The MINI Countryman Untamed Edition wants all of it. MINI’s biggest model now gets a rugged makeover built for weekends far from the tarmac. It sits higher, grips harder and wears a tougher face. Production kicks off at Plant Leipzig in November, with the first cars reaching customers in early 2027.

The hardware starts underneath. A 15mm suspension lift raises ground clearance by up to 19mm, depending on market and powertrain. North American buyers get it on every version, while Europe reserves it for the electric models. Specially developed Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyres wrap exclusive 19-inch five-spoke wheels. MINI has also recalibrated the ABS, DSC and steering to suit the new stance and rubber.
The styling growls too. A reshaped grille with vertical, angular inserts stands proud inside a Dark Steel surround. Matt black protective film guards the wheel arches, sills and bonnet bulge, while fresh underbody armour and a sculpted rear diffuser toughen the stance. Paint options draw on earthy, mineral tones. Frozen Nomad Blue even marks the first matt finish ever offered on a series-production MINI.

Choice runs deep. The Untamed Edition covers the petrol Countryman C, the diesel D and the S ALL4, plus the all-electric E and SE ALL4, depending on market. ALL4 all-wheel drive shuffles traction across loose surfaces. An optional tow bar hauls up to 2,000kg. Up top, the roof carries 75kg on the move and a hefty 300kg when parked, which matters for what comes next.
Inside, Nightshade Blue sports seats wear a knit pattern inspired by rock formations, edged with Cornflower Blue piping. Rubber mats and strapped storage borrow ideas from climbing gear. Italian specialist AUTOHOME supplies a handcrafted roof tent that pops open in seconds on gas struts, while HELINOX adds folding chairs and tables. Pack the lot and point the bonnet at the horizon. Tarmac just became optional.
