BMW Conquers the 2021 Formula E London E-Prix

Jake Dennis revels with his second win during the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The BMW I Andretti Motorsport team competes in London, Dennis’ home race. Riding the #27 BMW iFE.21, Jake Dennis came as second on the grid during the London E-Prix. The British driver showed no sign of conceding from the lead as he moved ahead in the race’s opening third. Before using his second attack mode, he strategically pulled away from his rivals.

In his debut season with Formula E, Dennis has already won in Valencia (ESP) and this is his second podium finish. Maximilian Günther (GER), another member of his team, finished 20th.

Dennis has moved up to third place in the driver standings as a result of this victory. With only two points off the lead, Dennis scores 79 points. With 54 points, Gunther positions in 15th place. Overall, with 133 points, the BMW i Andretti Motorsport comes sixth in the team standings. The 13th race of the season will also take place in London and on a Sunday.

Jake Dennis rejoiced with his victory as he had no idea what to expect when joining the race. With not much energy-saving going on, he said it was a little different than usual. Dennis also confessed how he tried to put Alex Lynn under pressure, knowing that he would have intense competition. When Lynn took his second attack mode, Dennis claimed that he took the risk to stay on the lead. While he was unsure if his strategy would work out or not, he knew how he could Lynn behind him.

Before switching to his second attack mode, Dennis was fortunate when Lynn made a minor error during the race. It was also about three qualifying laps for them to pull the two-second gap when this happened. When he got the lead, it was just a matter of ending the race. Probably in the final 15 laps of the race, Dennis’ team experienced intense vibrations on the right rear. In order to ensure that he could bring it home, Jake was generally avoiding the kerbs. At the start of the season, being third in the championship is far more than what Dennis has anticipated.
