A 2014 BMW i8 prototype was spotted in a testing session in the snow with German engineers in Scandinavia. Expected to launch in 2014, this plugin hybrid is powered by a turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with 224 horsepower, aided by a 96 kW electric motor, delivering 260 kW or 354 horsepower and 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. Though heavily camouflaged, the i8 in this video presents a sleek body with a low ride profile, plus the gull wing doors just like what was used in the concept model.
