BMW considering a 1 Series Sedan?

BMW-1er-Limousine-2016-UKL-FWD-021-655x393Auto Express reports that BMW may be considering the introduction of a 1 Series Sedan model to the market. The rumors started with a statement that Ian Robertson, BMW board member and head of BMW’s sales and marketing, said at the Shanghai Auto Show a few days back after being asked about this possibility: “BMW is never shy of new segments. There are no plans to do it at the moment, but do we want to do it? We’ll see…” Rumors of a BMW 1 Series Sedan have already circulated in the past but the current focus of BMW is the next generation BMW 1 Series due out in 2016, using the new FWD platform (UKL) developed by the German car maker. Nothing has been confirmed yet but we’ll see how adventurous BMW can be in their future offerings.
