2013 doesn’t sound like too far, and yet babies born then are celebrating their third birthday now! This baby is not so little anymore – the BMW’s i Division has been around for three years already.

Third Birthday of BMW i Division

Since November 2013, BMW has delivered over 100,000 i cars. The BMW i3 is the absolute winner, with over 60,000 sold all around the world. Around 10,000 people are proudly driving their BMW i8, and the rest of the cars are BMW iPerformance models.

Harald Krüger, the BMW AG Board of Management Chairman, said:

BMW i remains our spearhead in terms of innovation and it will continue to open up groundbreaking technologies for the BMW Group. When it comes to electric drivetrains, we’ve already successfully managed to put this technology transfer on the road. The next technological advance we will address is automated driving, where the BMW iNEXT will set a new benchmark.
