BMW is set to launch the Neue Klasse platform in 2025, starting with the next-gen iX3 from the Debrecen plant in Hungary. Following suit in 2026, the Munich factory will produce a sedan in the 3 Series segment.
By late 2027, combustion engine vehicle production will cease in Munich, with a €650 million investment in four new buildings, including a body shop and assembly line.
Global Neue Klasse production includes Shenyang, China, in 2026 and San Luis Potosi, Mexico, in 2027. Plans for at least six electric vehicles in Spartanburg, South Carolina, by 2030 are underway, with platform specifics yet to be confirmed.
BMW remains discreet about upcoming Neue Klasse models, with speculations including an i3 Touring and an iX4, all rumored to receive the M treatment. Notably, BMW aims for an exclusively electric future for the crossover-coupe, with no combustion engine in the next-gen X4.
