BMW M Concept Neue Klasse Fronts a Stacked Monterey Showcase

The all-electric BMW M Concept Neue Klasse is the star turn of BMW’s Monterey Car Week 2026 programme. The design study lands on the Monterey Peninsula for its North American debut, fresh from its world premiere at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and it previews the next era of BMW M performance. It also sets the tone for a dense week of debuts, heritage displays and hard racing across the peninsula.

The concept is a firm statement of intent. It runs a quad-motor electric drivetrain governed by M-specific Neue Klasse technology, with the Heart of Joy ‘superbrain’ at its core, tuned to deliver sharper command than any M car before it. BMW frames the machine as a clear signpost to where its performance division is heading, built around all-electric pace and a new dimension of driving dynamics.

It will not travel alone. The Vision BMW ALPINA also makes its North American bow, having first appeared at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. That design study reimagines ALPINA’s blend of long-legged pace and comfort for a new age. Together, the two concepts underline BMW’s appetite for electrified performance, modern luxury and emotionally charged design.

Heritage takes centre stage too. BMW is marking 40 years of the M3 with a formidable gathering of road and race cars. Legends of the Autobahn will host landmark examples, from the pioneering E30 through to the manual G80 M3 CS. Four generations of M3 racers, meanwhile, will run in anger at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca, one of them driven by BMW M boss Frank van Meel himself.

Design and culture round out the calendar. BMW will unveil the fourth chapter of its collaboration with Kith, led by founder Ronnie Fieg, complete with bespoke cars and a fresh apparel collection. The week then closes on the Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, where the M Concept Neue Klasse and Vision BMW ALPINA will bring the curtain down in style.
