DIY: Making your own iPhone5 Cradle

A Bimmerpost member shares his experience in making his very own iPhone5 cradle for his car. Since an iPhone5 cradle will not be available in the next 6 months, some of you guys may be interested in trying this out. This is very ideal for those who want the convenience of just placing your iPhone5 and sliding it into the slot and not having to fiddle with the lightning connector each time you put the phone. Here are the items that  you will need for this quick solution:

1. Base plate of the Cradle (blanking plate)
2. Original Apple USB to Lightning cable
3. Filing tools
4. Hot Glue

In the photos below, an original USB to Lightning cable was used for the connection. All features are provided except for the iPod Out functionality and antennae connectivity.
