BMW Evolve App launched

BMW launches the Evolve iPhone application. This new app gives conventional car drivers the opportunity to experience how electric-vehicles work, without even owning a true electric vehicle. Many customers may not be ready to switch to an electric vehicle yet, especially due to concerns about driving range and battery recharging. But with this app that allows the user to to virtually own and drive an EV, they may change their minds about owning an electric vehicle.

The app gives  the user a 100-miles driving range daily. Using a GPS chip embedded in your phone, the app tracks your daily driving distance and again lets you charge your electric vehicle at destinations or while parked. Everything done virtually

At the end of the trip, the Evolve app tallies your trip length and distance, and tells how much time you spent driving, parked, and charging. It will also tell you how much less CO2 emissions you would have added to the environment and how many gallons of gas you could have saved if you were driving an EV, another concern among conventional car drivers.
