BMW’s M4 Series Revamp: From Headlights to Taillights

BMW wasted no time, swiftly updating its German configurator with the latest M4 models just hours after their introduction. Enthusiasts can now easily configure the coupe and convertible body styles, including the M4 LCI, on the dedicated Individual colour selection website.

Both platforms also feature the M Performance version (M440i/M440d) and allow configuration of models down to the entry-level 420i/420d. The Life Cycle Impulse is subtle, primarily seen in the new headlights and optional laser taillights carried over from the M4 CSL in 2022.

Production at the Dingolfing plant starts in March, with the hotter M4 CS rolling off the line in July and limited availability until June 2025. The future of G82/G83 M4 models remains uncertain, possibly bowing out in June 2028, with BMW hinting at an all-electric M3 on the Neue Klasse platform.

Rumors suggest the G80 sedan will adopt the changes from July 2024, while the G81 M3 Touring is expected to follow suit. By 2025, a CS version of the super wagon is anticipated, mirroring the enhancements introduced in the sedan last year. BMW’s strategic moves point towards an electrifying future in performance driving.
