The BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 arrives as a rolling tribute to Valentino Rossi, blending the coupé’s track-bred hardware with the Italian racer’s unmistakable #46 signature. Limited to two runs of forty-six cars, each machine left Dingolfing with bespoke paint and carbon details agreed personally with “Il Dottore”, ensuring rarity that matches its pedigree.

Every body panel showcases painstaking colour work: Marina Bay Blue metallic for the Sport treatment or satin Frozen Tanzanite Blue for the Style option, both overlaid with an outsized “46” graphic and bold yellow highlights on the kidney grille, wheels and brake callipers. The carbon-fibre roof carries Rossi’s logo and autograph, while a raised centre spine links bonnet to bootlid for a purposeful stance.

Paintwork demands roughly twenty labour-intensive hours per car. After an undercoat, artisans wet-sand the shell, mask the graphics, spray the contrast tones, then hand-finish the clear lacquer to achieve seamless transitions between colour and exposed carbon. The result is a surface as smooth as a race helmet and just as personal.
Inside, Night Blue upholstery is laced with yellow stitching that mirrors the exterior accents. M Carbon bucket seats wear Sao Paulo Yellow shoulder panels, a VR46 emblem glows on the headrests, and a numbered “1/46” plaque sits on the carbon console. Crystal shift paddles, deep-pile mats and a yellow steering-wheel marker complete the cockpit, while the familiar 550 hp straight-six and lightweight strut braces underline the car’s intent.
Owners are invited to Rossi’s Motor Ranch in Tavullia for a private meet-and-greet before sharpening their skills during a BMW M Driving Experience at Misano. It is a fitting conclusion for a coupé that fuses meticulous craftsmanship, motorsport engineering and the enduring aura of the man who made 46 a global icon.
