Automobile Magazine comes up with a list of All-Star cars annually. The cars on this list are selected based on various factors that make it a good buy for consumers. Nominated in the All-Star list is the 2017 BMW M2.
The M2 was a product of BMW’s learnings from trying to figure out what to give to consumers. The automaker faced a bit of an awkward phase after the release of the 1 Series M. The cars that came next were mostly heavier, felt fatter, and generally number than their predecessors. For the M2, BMW changed it up a little bit and went old school.
The BMW M2 is refreshingly simple yet sharply focused. Any driver would enjoy this car that feels like the spiritual successor to the E46 M3. It is a bit bigger than the E46 M3 but it makes up with modernity, safety features and technology. Powered by a 365 hp 3.0 liter turbocharged I6 engine and is more powerful than the E46 M3, which makes the weight gain justified.
Automobile contributors say: “The M2 is super sporty in all aspects. Just when you think BMW has lost the thread, they find it again and wrap it around the competition.†No wonder the BMW M2 was nominated as one of their 2017 All-Stars.
