Official: Wiesmann MF4 and MF5 will be using New BMW V8 engines

The end of the MF4 and MF5 with BMW V8 and V10 naturally aspirated engines production was announced by Wiesmann back in August. In an official statement Wiesmann said: “Yes we stop producing the MF5 with the V10 engine but we will not stop the MF5 model. We are currently in discussion which engine we will take. It will surely be BMW but the details have not been decided yet.”

Now, Wiesmann has officially announced that both the MF4 and MF5 models in the future will be equipped with newer BMW engines. The Roadster and Convertible options will use the new BMW engine. The MF4-S will continue to use the V8 from the current generation M3.

The MF4 will produce 402 horsepower at 5500-6400 rpm and 440 lb-ft of torque at 1750-4500 with an acceleration of 4.6 seconds. The MF5 on the other hand produces 555 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 500 lb at 1500-5650 rpm. Acceleration is an impressive 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 311 km/h.

Prices for the MF4 start at 130,000 euros, the more powerful MF5 starts at 184,000 euros.
