The history of the BMW 5 Series is the perfect example of evolution instead of revolution. When it was time for BMW to release the 2nd generation of the 5 Series, it did not differ much from the first generation. Only when you look closer can you see the evolution that happened optically. The most interesting thing that happened in the launch of the 2nd generation was the chassis.
