We all love a drag race. We particularly enjoyed good car racing when it involves a direct rivalry between the German high-performance Mercedes-Benz and BMW models, it’s even better. This is the core of this new video that pits the epic Mercedes-AMG C63 S Estate against the F81 BMW M3 Touring in a drag race.
The Mercedes-AMG C63 is propelled by a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 510hp and 700Nm of torque. BMW F81 M3 Touring on the other side has a 3-liter twin-turbo with 540hp and 680Nm of torque!
The BMW F81 M3 Touring is a vehicle that we’ve been dreaming of for years. But, because BMW never produced one, it doesn’t mean that aftermarket world won’t give it a try. Take the BMW F81 M3 touring, for example, which began as an F31 3 Series Touring model (a diesel model too), and a BMW F80 M3 that had broken down.
The M3’s Touring chassis got everything it needs to get into full speed. It was all stripped down and installed on the Touring; the gearbox, the transmission, and the suspension.
With regard to the motor, it was given a TLC in Evolve ‘s shape as well. According to Mat, the six-mill straight three-liter produces 540 HP and 680 Nm torque. To some degree, a new exhaust is also applied to the mix. A much less complex vehicle is on the other side of the drag strip.
Conclusion
The Mercedes-AMG C63 S is the most innovative M3 Touring. This means that it will focus on its 510 HP and 700 Nm torque 4-liter twin-turbo V8 motor. The Merce has a 9-sped, launch powered, of course-unlike the BMW that uses a 7-speed DCT gearbox. And, as we have seen in the clip, the Mercedes launch control sequence functions much better than the M3 series.
