Spy Photos – BMW M5 spyshots F10 in black while snow testing

With just a few months away from its official unveiling, the M5 prototypes are still being tested in extreme weather conditions. One was spotted snow testing in Germany. This photo shows expected M trademarks, aggressive bumper and large air intakes. The design lines extend from front-to-end and become more obvious on the sides due to the multiple convex and concave shapes.

The 2012 BMW M5 will be powered by a V8 turbocharged S63 4.4-liter engine delivering 578 horsepower and 530 lb-ft of torque, matted to a dual clutch transmission which is unique to the M5. The vehicle will accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.4 seconds. , based upon the 7-Speed transmission currently found in the M3. An 8-speed unit might also be available. Rumor has it that the new M5 concept will be showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011. The world premiere of the production version will take place in September 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
