Since the all-new G24 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is already here, might as well compare it with one of its rivals to see which among of them look best. In this article, we are going to showcase a different photo angle of the 4 Series with the second-generation A5 Sportback.

Aesthetically speaking, the Audi A5 Sportback’s design is a high-grade. It’s not great to drive, but it has a lot more presence on the road and looks a lot more unique than the typical four-cylinder, lease-special cars in its class. But, the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe has also a lot to say in terms of visual aesthetics.

In profile, however, it’s a toss-up. From the side, both cars are stunning, but for different reasons. The BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is a little more refined and muscular, but it’s also a little bigger. On the other hand, the Audi A5 Sportback has a much sharper shoulder line, a longer and lower design, and more flowing curves.

Going at the back, it’s quite hard to judge as these cars are both attractive. Their muscular back haunches are visible, and they both have sporty taillights and tall deck lids. The Audi’s slick dancing taillights are more appealing, but the exhausts are fake, hurting the car’s value. The exhausts on the 4 Series are a little dull in appearance, but at least they’re real.

Now it’s time to go inside the cabin. Audi has a long history of excellent interior design, and this is no exception. The A5 Sportback’s cabin is arguably more attractive, has better ergonomics, and a steering wheel that doesn’t feel like a python. The interior of the BMW 4 Series isn’t bad, but the A5 Sportback looks and feels more interesting. Both cars are tied in terms of technology, with the 4 Series having a better infotainment system and the A5 Sportback having better digital gauges.

If we are to tally the wins, it is safe to say that they are tie. We can’t make the final judgement yet as we haven’t been able to test drive the 4 Series Gran Coupe yet. It’s a tie until then.
