The Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2010. Now, it is already available for orders in the UK and deliveries will come later this year. Why UK first? Its because Alpina considers UK as their most profitable markets.
The Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo is a V8 capable of 507 hp at 5,500rpm and a with maximum torque of 700Nm from 3,000 to 4,750rpm. Two turbochargers working in parallel are added to the V8 cylinder which makes it a “Bi-turbo.” The Alpina B5 Bi-turbo is capable of more torque over a wider rev range and improves throttle reaction at low revs, as compared to its predecessor. It also has an advanced Switch-Tronic 8-speed sport automatic transmission. The sum of these parts is a vehicle that can top 191mph.
