BMW M4 GT3 EVO Powers WRT To Titles In A Barcelona Fightback

The BMW M4 GT3 EVO set the tone for a title-clinching afternoon in Barcelona, where Team WRT wrapped up the GT World Challenge Europe crowns, and Kelvin van der Linde and Charles Weerts secured the overall drivers’ championship. From a grid penalty that left the #32 car starting 31st, the trio of Weerts, van der Linde and Ugo de Wilde pieced together a measured charge to sixth at the flag, banking the points needed to convert a season of relentless consistency into silverware. The Sprint Cup had already been boxed off; Barcelona completed the combined Sprint and Endurance campaign with the control and composure that defined their year.

The finale was a case study in race craft. After a subdued qualifying across the BMW camp, WRT leaned on strategy and clean pit work to open track position. The #32 M4 GT3 EVO found clear air at key moments, the drivers managing tyre life and traffic with calm heads as the safety car shuffled the order. Three wins and four further podiums across 2025 set the platform; sixth place in Spain sealed the deal.

BMW’s day wasn’t only about the champions. AlManar Racing by WRT delivered a forceful run to second with the #777 M4 GT3 EVO for Jens Klingmann, Al Faisal Al Zubair and Ben Tuck, a result that locked in the GOLD Cup team title. ROWE Racing completed the podium as Augusto Farfus, Jesse Krohn and Raffaele Marciello hustled the #98 M4 GT3 EVO into third, making smart use of race tempo and timely calls from the pit wall.

Century Motorsport provided the other headline in BMW colours, overcoming an early, unavoidable spin to clinch the SILVER Endurance drivers’ crown with the #42 M4 GT3 EVO. Jarrod Waberski, Mex Jansen and William Moore steadied the car after the opening-lap drama, banking the necessary points with tidy stints and faultless execution. Their season-long scorecard — wins, podiums and steady finishing — mirrored the theme of BMW’s broader programme: pace when it mattered and error-free laps when it counted most.

When the chequered flag fell, the scoreboard reflected a complete effort. Team WRT took the overall team title alongside the drivers’ crown, AlManar’s #777 underlined GOLD Cup supremacy with a podium, and ROWE’s #98 backed up the marque with another top-three. Across the garage doors, the BMW M4 GT3 EVO proved its versatility — quick over a lap, kind to its tyres, and adaptable to stint-length chess. Barcelona confirmed what the season had already suggested: with strong cockpit line-ups and sharp pit wall decisions, BMW’s GT flagship had the balance and durability to own the long game.
