BMW M is throwing a party for one of motorsport’s greatest addresses. To mark 100 years of the Nürburgring in 2027, the division has revealed a special run of six high-performance cars called the Edition 100 Jahre Nürburgring. Each one nods to the circuit where every BMW M road car earns its stripes. The line-up spans the BMW M2, the M3 Saloon, the M3 Touring, the M4 Coupé, the M5 Saloon and the M5 Touring.

The visual signature is hard to miss. Every car wears a historical Nürburgring Green, a shade created solely for this edition. Bold stripes track across the roof, laid over exposed M carbon on the coupé and saloons and over steel on the two Touring models. Edition graphics sit on the doors, C-pillars and rear flanks, while green accents pick out the wheels and kidney frames. Buyers who prefer a quieter look can order Black Sapphire metallic instead.
Slip inside, and the theme carries on. The cabins pair black trim with green and white contrast stitching. The six-cylinder cars gain an M Alcantara wheel with a 12 o’clock marker, and the M5 pair get their own M wheel to match. Under the bonnet, the inline-six models bring BMW M Ignite, a pre-chamber ignition system fitted to the M2, M3 and M4 since the middle of 2026. It sharpens efficiency under heavy load, trims consumption on track and meets Euro 7 rules, all without surrendering power.

For BMW M, the location is personal. “The Nürburgring is much more than just a racetrack for us. It is a second home for BMW M,” said Frank van Meel, chief executive of BMW M GmbH. The 20.8-kilometre Nordschleife and its 73 corners remain the yardstick against which chassis, brakes and cooling are judged. The edition tagline sums up the intent: Born on the Racetrack. Made for the Streets.
Order books are already open for the M3 Saloon, M3 Touring, M4 Coupé, M5 Saloon and M5 Touring, with the compact M2 joining them from January 2027. Every car carries the “100 Years” logo, the Nürburgring silhouette and the “Nürburgring since 1927” wording, a rolling reminder of the track BMW M calls the Green Hell.
