The BMW M Drift Academy is back on Indian tarmac for 2026, and this time it is bigger, bolder and louder than ever. BMW Group India has confirmed the return of its signature performance driving programme, expanding it to four major cities: Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Delhi. With the BMW M2 and BMW M4 serving as the weapons of choice, participants will get behind the wheel of two of the most capable rear-driven machines in the M stable, learning to master the art of controlled drifting under the guidance of certified BMW instructors. It is a programme that fuses motorsport passion with disciplined technique, all underpinned by BMW’s unwavering commitment to safety and the pledge to drift responsibly.
The two-day course is designed to take drivers from first principles through to advanced sideways mastery. The curriculum blends classroom theory with extensive track time, building skills progressively from basic drift control and throttle modulation through to half-circle drifts, full-circle drifts in both directions, and the demanding figure-of-eight transition drift. Every session is structured to sharpen precision, boost confidence and develop genuine car control at the limit. Participants who complete the programme earn the Drift Pilot Red Badge of Honour, a certified recognition of their abilities and a stepping stone towards the coveted Drift Marshal title.
BMW Group India President and CEO Hardeep Singh Brar described the academy as a first-of-its-kind platform for car enthusiasts in the country. Its expansion to four cities comes in direct response to surging demand, bringing the raw power and performance dynamics of M closer to a much wider audience. The programme, Brar explained, delivers an unforgettable experience where adrenaline meets precision and every drift becomes a symphony of skill, speed and sound. Enrolment is available through authorised BMW dealerships nationwide as well as through DISTRICT by Zomato, with limited slots ensuring a focused and high-impact learning environment for every participant.
The academy rolls into Bengaluru on 4 and 5 April at the Manpho Convention Centre before moving to Hyderabad on 11 and 12 April at Prasad Multiplex. Chennai hosts the programme on 18 and 19 April at Island Ground, and Delhi rounds out the calendar from 1 to 3 May at the Container Depot Ground in Okhla. Each stop promises the same intensive, hands-on experience with BMW’s M machinery, giving drivers across the country an equal opportunity to hone their craft on a professionally managed circuit.
The action does not end when the track lights go off. Each city also plays host to the BMW M After Party, a high-energy evening gathering that brings together fans, drift enthusiasts and the wider M community for live music, gourmet food, spectacular drift demonstrations and electrifying performances. It is a celebration of the culture and lifestyle that surrounds BMW M, offering participants and spectators alike a chance to soak in the spirit of performance long after the rubber smoke has cleared.
