Inside, BMW has put space and usability front and centre. The X3 serves up generous boot capacity and clever touches such as a one-press shortcut for the 360-degree cameras when parking. Front seats offer a wide range of adjustment and long-journey support, and the cabin feels robustly assembled. On the road, differences sharpen. The X3 30 xDrive feels keener to turn, brakes with real precision and settles quickly over poor surfaces, making for confident back-road progress and relaxed motorway miles. The GLC majors on comfort with a softer edge and quieter demeanour, yet lacks the BMW’s precision and rolls a touch more over undulations. Taken as a whole, the BMW X3 is the more rounded package—sportier to drive, easier to live with and roomier where it counts—while the Mercedes-Benz GLC remains the better pick for buyers who prize plush ambience above all else.
