BMW i3 Wins German Golden Steering Wheel Award

The BMW i3 has already won a number of awards ever since it was launched. It also broke sales records for BMW, which proves that the market and the award-giving bodies are very satisfied with what it brings to the table. Now, the BMW i3 also wins the German Golden Steering Wheel award by Auto Bild together and Bild am Sonntag. In 2013, the i3 also won the best new environment-friendly car in the same awards.

This is the first time that a car won twice in the German Golden Steering Wheel awards. The car impressed the jury of experts in a series of intensive practical tests and they selected the BMW i3 as the winner of the coveted award in the “Alternative Drives” category.

Based on extensive test drives and detailed comparisons, the 57-strong international panel then went on to select award winners in each of the six categories, with “Alternative Drives” being introduced as a category for the first time this year. Here again, the BMW i3 was the clear winner, receiving the highest score from five out of the seven groups of experts.
