BMW is giving the 8 Series a stylish send-off with a limited-run Edition M Heritage model, celebrating the original E31-generation coupe from the 1990s. Just 500 examples will be built, each finished in one of five period-inspired colours: Bright Red, Mauritius Blue, Cosmos Black, Oxford Green, or Daytona Violet.

Based on the M850i xDrive Gran Coupe, the Edition M Heritage adds a carbon-fibre roof featuring M tri-colour stripes, exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels, and the M Sport Professional package as standard. Black exterior trim and uprated brakes further enhance the car’s presence.

Inside, Alcantara and black Merino leather cover the M Sport seats, with diamond-pattern stitching adding to the bespoke feel. Alcantara extends across the headliner, dashboard, and door panels, while matte carbon-fibre trim and M tri-colour stitching feature throughout. Special badging marks each car’s place in the 500-unit production run.
Under the bonnet sits the familiar 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 523hp and 553lb ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and xDrive all-wheel drive. Performance figures remain unchanged, with swift acceleration and a governed top speed that maintains the car’s grand touring credentials.
Every Edition M Heritage comes fully equipped, from the high-end Bowers & Wilkins audio system to advanced driver assistance features. The only choice left for buyers is which heritage-inspired colour to select before production begins later in 2025.
