The BMW M3’s top competitor is undoubtedly the Audi RS5. Powered by the S65B40 engine, a naturally aspirated, high revving 4-liter V8 capable of 414 horsepower at 8,300 rpm and peak torque of 400 Nm at 3,900 rpm, the BMW M3 is a crowd favorite.

The Audi RS5 however has a 4.2-liter V-8 that makes 450 hp at 8250 rpm – 30 horsepower more than what the BMW M3 can produce. But is this enough to beat the BMW M3 on the road? AutoExpress thinks not.
