The world premiere of the BMW i8 Concept Spyder was held at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. The eDrive emblem representing the new electric and plug-in hybrid technology is on the rear-end of the vehicle.

BMW eDrive puts together a great electric drivetrain made up of a BMW-developed electric motor, the lithium-ion battery, and an intelligent motor management system. The full torque of the electric motor is available from a standing start and the acceleration unfolds continuously in thoroughbred electric vehicles until the top speed is attained.
