New US Safety Rules to Improve Rear Visibility

The U.S. Department of Transportation passed a new regulation to reduce accidents caused by blind spots. This policy that will take effect in 2012 will require all cars to be equipped with rear-view video cameras. An accident there three years prompted the department to increase safety as a father accidentally killed his two-year-old son when he was backing over their home.

Good thing BMW has already thought of reducing these kinds of accidents by equipping vehicles with not only rear end cameras, but a technology that provides 360 degree angles to the driver. The live feed is shown on the LCD screen inside the vehicle. This technology aids the driver in parking or backing up.
