This new compact sports car sits just below the current top model of the BMW 1 Series, the BMW M135i xDrive. It also features the new 2-litre engine. Under the hood, a four-cylinder with BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology powers the 128ti. Significantly, this engine generates a sporty 197kW (265 bhp) and a 6.1 second jump from 0 to 100 km/h. Wearing a character of its own, its interior and exterior features separates it from the other BMW 1 Series.

Further, the tuned suspension and steering offers extreme sporty driving dynamics. Most importantly, it is the first front-wheel-drive sports car, which specifically targets the younger market. It promises the signature BMW driving satisfaction while maintaining exemplary power and performance.

The standard BMW 128ti comes with the 8-speed Steptronic sport transmission. And for better traction on the front axle, its transmission comes with a Torsen limited-slip differential. Further, a special M sport suspension with 10mm lowering supports the compact sports car. Coupled with the BMW Performance Control, enhanced agility for the 128ti exceeds expectations.

In addition, the steering has been tuned for a more direct response to the driver. Being a very compact sports car, it also weighs 80 kilos lighter than its BMW M135i xDrive sibling. Optional sports tires also guarantee increased driving enjoyment. And lastly, the M Sport brakes ensure a braking performance that matches the powerful driving dynamics of this new compact sports car.
