The G-Power program will be expanded to ALPINA, specifically for the ALPINA XD3 Biturbo, D3, D4 and D5 models.
G-Power is using a refined version of the D-Tronik 5 V1 with the G-Power XD3. The additional module, connected upstream of the original motor control unit, records the information measured and submitted by the vehicle sensors before they reach the serial control unit. The data that are read in are modified by the Bi-Tronik 5 microprocessor and thus submitted to the serial control unit. This in turn determines the parameters required for the output, such as the fuel amount, before initiating a moderate increase of the charging pressure.
If certain limits are reached in the summer with permanent full-throttle use, the increase in output is automatically disabled and the motor controller operates again as in the series engine.
As a result, a power increase from 350 PS (257 kW) / 700 Nm to 395 PS (290 kW) / 800 Nm results for the 3.0-liter-Biturbo drive of the G-Power DX3, giving the potent SAV model a noticeably more powerful performance characteristic.
