BMW to enter partnership with Toyota and supply diesel engines

BMW has entered into previous agreements with Saab, PSA, and General Motors to provide engines for them. Now, BMW has entered into a similar agreement with Japanese automaker Toyota.

According to Nikkey Business Daily, BMW and Toyota could share fuel-efficient technologies. Toyota will first adopt THE BMW 2.0-liter diesel engine for a model  that they will be releasing for Europe. This will be advantageous for Toyota since they will not need to ship in engines to Europe anymore. Toyota’s costs and development fees will significantly be reduced because of this agreement. What will BMW gain on the other hand? Well, Toyota will be lending BMW its hybrid technologies useful for BMW’s future plans. No specific details have been given about this partnership yet.
