With the arrival of the BMW M5 facelift also came the ‘Competition Package’ option. At first, it seemed like it doesn’t offer anything special and it was a question if it’s worth the trouble. It’s certain that, for daily needs, this option is nearly useless. However, things get a bit different on the track.
The Competition Package costs $7,300 and the 15 HP increase is just the beginning of what it offers. The list of changes is long, and it includes things like:
- new 20″ wheels
- stiffer stabilizer bars
- new axle bushings
- 10mm drop in the height
- stiffer dampers
- new steering system
- different setting for the rear differential
- new exhaust
