The sedans from the 2016 BMW 5 Series got the 5/5 star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The 5 Series has a high rating in each of the three categories. It got 4/5 stars in the front crash test, 5/5 stars in the rollover crash test, and 5/5 stars in the side crash test. All of the tests serve to see what happens in case of a crash, and as the numbers show, the 5 Series vehicles are very safe in case of an accident.
Standard BMW 5 Series models come with features such as:

- active front head restraints
