2011 BMW X3s in the U.S. recalled due to power steering issues

Fifty new 2011 BMW X3 units produced at the factory in Spartanburg, South Carolina between April 27, 2011 and June 8, 2011 have been recalled by BMW of North America due to some problems with the control module in the electric power steering. This issue may lead to a loss of power steering. An announcement has been issued by the National Highway Safety Administration of America stating that the vehicles will need to be brought in and repaired by BMW. Consumers will not be charged for the repair.
