Rumor: Is BMW considering an M3 Sportwagon?

Bimmerfile released a new rumor about the possibility of seeing an M3 Sportswagon based on the current generation E9x M3. Inside sources say that BMW is considering the idea of building an M3 Sportswagon before the current generation M3 ends its production. However, this rumor seems unlikely to happen because BMW has a very limited timeframe to build and extensively test the vehicle for mass production. A BMW insider named Scott27, mentions that BMW did build an M3 Sportswagon prototype back in 2008. Though it is still too early to say if these rumors are true.
