Most Realistic 2017 BMW G30 5 Series Rendering

BMW Blog presents one of the most realistic renderings of the BMW G30 5 series. This one is done by Jerry Alvarez.

The styling cues in the G30 5 Series rendering above are taken from the BMW 7 Series that was just recently launched. The body style is quite elongated and the corners are sharp-rounded. The kidney grille is in an upright position and it is connected with the super sleek headlights. The new G30 5 Series is expected to offer optional laser headlights with selective beam just like the 7 Series.

This is a rendering of the top model 550i with the M Sport Package. Thus, the sportiness is enhanced to make it look like a real athlete. The design cues such as the aggressive design lines of the front bumper and the large air intakes serve as a great reminder that this is more than just a luxury sedan. It is a sporty beast as well.

It doesn’t look exactly like the new 7 Series because it has shorter overhangs and is shorter overall – just like what a 5 series should be. It looks more aggressive that luxurious and this is evidenced by the sloping of the hood. Definitely realistic.

For the standard features, it is the expected to get much technology from the 7 Series to keep up with the trends. This includes the gesture control, new iDrive infotainment system, and laser headlights. It may even be the organic LEDs.

It will be powered by a 2-liter 4-cylinder engine most likely. There may also be the introduction of the new B-family of modular engines on all models and more choices for the plug-in hybrid versions.

The new 5 Series will be offered in sedan, Touring and Gran Turismo configurations globally. It will be followed by its brother, the F90 M5.
