Unlocking Luxury: The 2026 BMW X5 G65 Preview

The BMW X5, a leader in SUVs, is gearing up for its fifth generation, the G65, in 2026. Built on the solid CLAR platform, it promises various engine choices, including hybrids and electric versions. The US market can expect the powerful V8 BMW X5 M60, ensuring an exciting drive.

Expected in Summer 2026, the BMW X5 G65 is set to impress with its 4.4-liter V8 TwinTurbo engine, delivering a remarkable 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. Paired with an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission and a 48-volt mild hybrid system, it aims for both performance and efficiency.

While details on its exterior remain scarce, the 2027 BMW X5 G65 is likely to embrace elements of the innovative Neue Klasse design philosophy. This means a departure from the usual style, possibly featuring signature features like the Panoramic Display.

Production is scheduled from August 2026 to July 2033. The BMW X5 M60 drops the ‘i’ designation to distinguish petrol models from electric ones, like the iX5 SUV. This move simplifies model distinctions, paving the way for a new era of BMW SUVs.
