BMW M340i 50 Jahre Edition Marks Canada Milestone In Style

BMW has marked half a century of the 3 Series in Canada with a home-market special: the 2026 M340i xDrive 50 Jahre Edition. Built in a strictly limited run of 100 cars, this four-door celebrates five decades of compact-saloon DNA with Canada-only allocation and a specification that leans into the brand’s heritage while keeping its modern road manners intact.

Paintwork is the headline act. Six finishes nod to landmark 3 Series generations: Carbon Black Metallic, Citrin Black Metallic, Madeira Red Metallic, Avus Blue Metallic, Laguna Green Metallic and Deep Green Metallic. Each car sits on 20-inch forged M Performance wheels and breathes through an M Performance exhaust, with “Jahre Edition” badging on the tail and door sills to underline its rarity. Inside, BMW Individual steps in with Merino leather upholstery, delivering a cabin that feels tailored rather than off-the-peg.

Under the bonnet, the straight-six remains stock—and strong. The 386-hp inline-six fires the M340i to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds and on to a limited 155 mph (250 km/h), with xDrive traction keeping the drivetrain tidy in all seasons. There’s no power bump, but the chassis specification and hardware details give this edition a sharper, more characterful edge without straying from the car’s day-to-day usability.

Production is set to begin in Germany this month, with enquiries handled through Canadian BMW retailers and the brand’s website. It follows another Canada-specific run from earlier this year—the 2026 540i xDrive Legacy Edition—further proof that BMW is keen to reward local enthusiasts with rare machinery that feels engineered for their roads and climate.
