BMW makes sure that fans stay at the edge of their seats until they reveal the new BMW i4. The Bavarians showcased the upcoming BMW i4 taking a test loop on their recent video.
BMW revealed the first concept video of the new BMW i4 three years ago. Back then, the Bavarians showed the all-electric car in the shape of the BMW i Vision Dynamics. Last year, the carmaker previewed the i4 through the BMW i4 Concept. All these teasers made car enthusiasts remain at the edge of their seats. And now, nearly a year after the last preview, BMW posted a video of the upcoming BMW i4 taking a test loop.
As the first electric M car, we expect many driving tests for the new BMW i4. And on this test loop David Alfredo Ferrufino Camacho, project manager, took the test mule’s wheel. Though it will not wear the M character, it will have the tri-color badge of the M Performance.
We do not yet know the exact specs for the upcoming i4. However, we know that it will produce up to 530 horsepower for its most powerful model. It will alsol only take 4 seconds to take a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint. These numbers sit close to the range of M3 models. The i4 will also arrive with the latest ARB traction control system. And a model-specific suspension to keep its weight.
Camacho noted that “The BMW i4 conveys the feeling of being light and agile yet also solid and authoritative.†He added that its directional reliability and cornering stability make the i4 a cut above all-EVs. “All-electric vehicles are capable of fast straight-line acceleration. But that’s not enough for us at BMW.â€
Fans await the official reveal of the upcoming BMW i4 that will reach the market this year. The EV market expands fast, and BMW takes this shift seriously. The Bavarians even noticed a 30 percent increase in their EVs’ sales last year.
