Sheldon van der Linde secured his first win of the DTM season during the fifth race weekend at the Nürburgring, piloting the #31 Shell BMW M4 GT3 to victory. This marks his first triumph since the 2023 Norisring race, bringing much-needed relief after a challenging Saturday performance. Teammate Marco Wittmann also had a standout weekend, finishing third in the #11 Schaeffler BMW M4 GT3, contributing to Schubert Motorsport reclaiming the top spot in the team standings.

Van der Linde’s victory was hard-fought. He started from eighth place and swiftly rose the ranks. His advance was aided by a spin from Maro Engel’s Mercedes, which collided with René Rast’s BMW, further complicating Rast’s race. Despite the incident, Schubert Motorsport remains a strong contender in the championship, with both drivers placing well in the overall standings.

Wittmann, on the other hand, had a consistent weekend. He coped well with rainy conditions on Saturday and secured his second podium of the season on Sunday. His crew also set the fastest pit stop time of the day, further highlighting the team’s efficiency.

In the drivers’ championship, van der Linde, Rast, and Wittmann are all within striking distance of the leaders. Meanwhile, Schubert Motorsport holds a comfortable lead in the team standings, setting the stage for a thrilling conclusion to the season.
