The next generation G30 BMW 5 Series will make its debut soon. To make the crowd even more excited, BMW released this video to showcase the 5 Series’ Driving Assistance Systems. Check out its automated driving feature, here:

BMW is slowly transitioning to the future of mobility. Soon enough, the Ultimate Driving Machine that we know of today will become the Autonomous Driving Machine. Some hardcore BMW fans think negatively about this because they feel that somehow, the identity of BMW is lost. It is no longer a driver’s car if the car does all the driving for you.

However, a lot of things are expected to be automated in the years to come. BMW is working hard in leading the way for the future of mobility. At this point, nothing can stop them since it means the future of the company’s success.

These initiatives result to great things though. As an example, this video gives a good glimpse of the new 5 Series’ M Sport steering wheel taken from the 7 Series, the new head-up display also from the 7 Series, Crossroads Warning feature demonstration for increased safety, and the driver assistance demonstration that shows just how advanced the technology used is. BMW blurred the door panels and the dash on interior shots though, to keep the car a mystery until the final reveal. Still, what they’ve shown in the video was enough to make us drool.
