The BMW M2 Coupe was named “Best new design of 2016” in the compact cars category of the poll conducted by German publication “auto motor und sport”. The readers of this publication get to vote yearly of their favorite car design and this year, the BMW M2 got a total of 34.3% of all votes cast. BMW bagged the same award for two years in a row for the same class.

There were a total of 18,229 readers who took the survey. The poll has been going for 16 years and each year, voters are given a list of cars that were released in the last year and then they get to vote between 10 different categories.

The BMW M2’s design takes inspiration from the historical roots of BMW M. It combines track performance with a classic rear-wheel drive. This results to the precision and agility of a modern M automobile. The styling is also so unique that one can easily spot and M2 from a fleet of M cars. Its features are just more dynamic and appealing.

The look and features of the car are impressive. Front and rear aprons optimizes air flow and aerodynamics. Under the hood it is powered by an M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine that’s paired with improved suspension. This makes the car perform really powerfully while looking really good.
