Eight BMW M4 GT4 EVOs are set to flood the GS class in the 2026 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, spread across six teams—two more cars than last year. The picture firms up with the official entry list for the Daytona test, ahead of the season-opening race at Daytona on 23 January, with track time starting on Friday, 16 January.
Turner Motorsport returns with a familiar two-car effort and a driver roster packed with proven pace. Robby Foley and Vin Barletta reunite in the No. 96 after taking the GS title together in 2023, while the No. 95 pairs long-time Turner driver Dillon Machavern with Luca Mars, who arrives as a recent champion and brings plenty of GT experience.
CarBahn with Peregrine Racing, led by BMW stalwart Steve Dinan, also fields two full-season M4 GT4 EVOs. Jeff Westphal and Sean McAlister are back together in the No. 39 after being the most productive BMW pairing in the series last year, and the No. 37 puts Steve Wetterau alongside Cameron Shields to give the team another strong line-up for long stints and clean pit work.
AutoTechnic Racing keeps momentum with Stevan McAleer and Austin Krainz after a season of front-running flashes and regular top-five form. Random Vandals Racing expands into the series after lifting two SRO GT4 America titles, with BMW legend Bill Auberlen teaming up with Samantha Tan in the No. 38 ST Racing by Random Vandals entry, while Robert Megennis and Nicky Hays take the wheel of the No. 92 car. Another BMW to watch is Thunder Bunny Racing’s No. 66 with Allen Patten and Trenton Estep.
Across the wider Daytona test entry, there are 34 cars from seven manufacturers, up from 27 the year before. The same weekend also hosts the first two VP Racing SportsCar Challenge races, though the GTDX class for GT3-spec machinery is absent, while the GT4-based GSX field includes 11 cars, among them the No. 26 AutoTechnic Racing BMW driven by Tiger Tari.
