BMW M achieves record sales for Singapore in 2011.

Over 120 units sold through World’s first dedicated BMW M dealership in Singapore.

Singapore. BMW Asia is pleased to announce that its first exclusive BMW M dealer in the world, Munich Automobiles Pte Ltd, has set an entirely new sales record in 2011 since BMW M cars first started retailing in Singapore more than a decade ago.

The spectacular sales result of 126 units is attributed to the overall enhanced awareness of the BMW M brand in Singapore, as well as the successful introduction of popular new models such as the limited-production BMW 1 Series M Coupé and limited-edition BMW M3 GTS.

Further, the evergreen BMW M3 Saloon, Coupé and Convertible, and the iconic BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M have been very popular amongst the local high-performance car community. Additionally, the BMW Individual service has also been well-received by local motoring enthusiasts who wish to customize their cars’ look and feel according to their individual preference.

“This is an outstanding sales result that BMW M cars have achieved since beginning in Singapore, with credit undoubtedly going to Munich Automobiles. The establishment of an exclusive BMW M dealership is a world’s first, and serves as an overall worldwide strategy to strengthen the positioning of the sub-brand and its accessories,” said Mr Neil Fiorentinos, Managing Director of BMW Group Asia. “Moving forward, we will build on our current success and further expand our presence in the exclusive segment of high-performance cars in both Singapore and the East Asia region”.

This year kicks off with the launch of the much-anticipated all-new BMW M5, which is geared for track usage yet offers supreme comfort and innovative driving and infotainment technology simultaneously.

“The new BMW M5 is definitely a mighty beast in disguise. When unleashed, its high-revving V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo can generate a maximum output of 560 hp and is able to complete the century sprint in just 4.3 seconds. The new BMW M5 has already captured the hearts of countless petrolheads with more than 20 units sold since its arrival in Singapore, and we’re confident that this will be a clear winner for the high-performance car segment in 2012,” said Joel Chang, Executive Director of Munich Automobiles Pte Ltd.
