The Next-Gen MINI Cooper SE in a Winter Wonderland

MINI introduces the 2024 Cooper SE, a powerful upgrade to last year’s best-seller. The new model, showcased in Blazing Blue, flaunts 218 hp, a 54.2-kWh battery, and a 250-mile range. Unlike its predecessor, this electric hatchback is manufactured in China through the Spotlight Automotive joint venture with Great Wall Motor.

The 2024 Cooper SE’s e-motor delivers 218 hp and 330 Nm of torque, drawing power from a 54.2-kWh battery. Its strategic floor-mounted battery placement enhances weight distribution and lowers the center of gravity, optimizing performance.

MINI’s parent company, BMW Group, has shifted production to China temporarily, but the UK will resume manufacturing in 2026. The transition includes the Aceman subcompact crossover set to join the lineup later this year.

With a commitment to an all-electric lineup by 2030, MINI offers choices, from the classic three-door hatchback to the versatile Aceman, emphasizing the brand’s firm step towards an electric-only future.
