MINI Smashes 2025 Sales As EVs Take Over A Third Global Now

MINI closed 2025 with serious momentum, shifting 288,290 cars worldwide and banking a 17.7% uplift on the previous year. The brand’s surge wasn’t limited to one corner of the map either, with demand rising across every region as the latest line-up found its stride in showrooms.

The headline is battery-electric. MINI delivered 105,535 fully electric cars in 2025, an 87.9% jump that pushed EVs to more than one in three of all MINIs sold globally. In markets such as the Netherlands, Turkey, Sweden and China, the electric mix climbed well beyond the halfway mark, showing how quickly buyers are swapping petrol pumps for charging plugs.

One clear growth engine was the Countryman, the biggest MINI in the range and now a cornerstone of the brand’s volume. It accounted for 32.4% of total sales, with 93,305 deliveries and a 15.2% gain year on year. The electric Countryman did even more heavy lifting, posting an 81.8% rise, which underlines how strongly MINI’s SUV play is landing with customers.

Performance models also had a standout year. John Cooper Works recorded 25,630 sales, up 59.5%, lifting its share to 8.9% of MINI’s total. Markets including the UK, Italy, Japan and Australia helped drive those results, proving there’s still plenty of appetite for sharper response, firmer set-ups and a more aggressive stance.

The core Cooper family kept its foot down as well, reaching 162,789 sales for a 10.3% increase, with the five-door and Convertible both gaining ground. Looking to 2026, MINI is teeing up a fresh design-led twist with the Paul Smith Edition across the Cooper 3-Door, 5-Door and Convertible, offered in both electric and combustion versions—another bid to keep the brand’s styling and character as distinctive as its badge.
