The new BMW M2 Coupé debuted January of this year and it is already getting a lot of attention in the international scene. Since March, the BMW M2 MotoGP Safety Car has graced the racetrack and people are loving it. To make an even bigger stir, the high-performance M2 Coupé will also be the winner’s car for the BMW M Award 2016. This award is given each end of the MotoGP racing season to honor the driver with the best qualifying results. For this year, the top qualifier will get no less than a new BMW M2 Coupé in Long Beach Blue Metallic.
Customized for the award, the BMW M2 coupe given to the winner will have black Double-spoke style 19-inch BMW M light alloy wheels, sport seats in Leather “Dakota†Black with contrast stitching in blue, porous carbon interior trims, Alcantara leather on the door mirrors and center console, and other exclusive features.
The organizers, Dorna Sports, are very excited to give this award in Jerez to the top qualifier. For the past 13 years, BMW has surprised them with a great car and this year it will be a highlight. Even the MotoGP riders are setting their eyes on the prize. Former world champion Loris Capirossi says that the possibility of winning the car just gives an extra kick of motivation to the drivers. It is very exciting to stand a chance to win a beautiful car that guarantees a lot of driving pleasure, Capirossi says.
BMW takes pride in participating in this initiative and they plan to continue this legacy in the years to come. It is one of the pillars in BMW’s commitment to supporting motorcycle racing.
